Diabetes awareness ride - A Guinness record attempt - Circumnvaigating 30,000 kms around the world on a cycle in 120 days

Yes, my name is Kamal and I am going to do it.

If someone had asked me about this cycling trip, a few years back, just like others I would have replied, "Are you mad?"

But my travel and job over the years has taught me so much and I learnt the truth that tangling oneself in a box is not going to help anyone,

I had to break out of it and my moment arrived exactly on January 29, 2015, HSR layout, Bengaluru.

I was casually browsing and I came across this article on Bangalore mirror,

http://www.bangaloremirror.com/news/state/Cycling-to-save-marriage-Or-has-he-lost-his-cow/articleshow/46125255.cms?

It was beginning of an interesting phase in my life and in fact I am leading a life I am happy with.

We all have the powers vested to do things which we think are impossible,

This article is the beginning of a cycling trip and I am going to share more as time rolls on,

IF YOU SEE A PROMISE IN THIS TRIP, I NEED YOUR HELP, KINDLY CONTRIBUTE, SHARE IN THE LINK BELOW

Cycling 140 kms under 9 hours, it's me Kamal

Before your brain puts some roadblock consider the following aspects:

1. The cycle is heavy and it's not a gear cycle.
2. I just went ahead and did it.
3. My smartphone doesn't have a front camera and so poor selfies.

Deliberating for a long time, I had to push my brain to accept a fact,
"If it's not now, then never".

I had been planning this for a long time and i kept postponing but i decided to go ahead without further delay.

Cycling from Neyveli Township to Puducherry and returning to Neyveli Township the same day. From Tamilnadu to a Union Territory 73 kms

I don't have a good cycle(in the sense, a cycle that's fit for long distance cycling) and i had to knock on every friend's door to get a cycle.
Finally, i got a cycle almost 8 years old with rusted chain and a very normal hand bar. Break was good.

All set i informed my parents about the journey and i had to face initial backlash but they finally gave me a green signal.
"Few have did this, let me be one of the few". This verse compelled my parents.

The journey begins

I started from Neyveli Township at 5.20 am
Reached Panruti at 7.00 am
Nellikuppam at 8.15 am
Cuddalore at 9.08 am
Puducherry border at 9.45 am
Mudaliarpet(Puducherry) at 10.30 am

Completed 73 km cycling under 5 hours.
Break time 30 minutes.
Average cycling /hour - 14.8 km

Return journey
Started from Mudaliarpet(Puducherry) at 3.45 pm
                      Puducherry border at 4.30 pm
                      Cuddalore at 5.15 pm
                      Cuddalore OT at 6.20 pm
                      Kullanchavadi at 7.30 pm
                      Marungur at  8.20 pm
                      Neyveli township at 8.45 pm.

Morning the journey was not so tiresome as my mother gave me buttermilk when i began. Journey time was flat 4.30 hours with half an hour break.
I reached Puducherry under 5 hours.

The return journey was the painful, troublesome and endurance testing.
My knee joints, lower half proved to be troublesome with every kilometer.
Evening lights were on till 6.30 pm.
I kept riding into the night and following a stop at Kullanchavadi for drinks.
A shopkeeper advised me to take a shorter route through Marungur(Near Panruti)

It was a solid 14 km journey without any kind of assistance and it was hard riding into the headlight of oncoming vehicles. Riding solo was a difficult thing. Cyclists who ride at night on highways will understand what i am trying to say here.

Last 20 kms starting from Kullanchavadi was too painful as i could not sit on the saddle. The next 1 hour, literally, i had to pedal the cycle standing and standing.

Believe me, Last part of the journey was testing my endurance,
A conversation between my brain and consciousness 20 kms before the end point follows:

Brain: Just give up, call your friend, Karthi and ask him to tow you home.

Consciousness: Man, don't give up, this is not what you meant to do. Keep going. Remember last time when you failed, Chennai to Trichy in my bicycle: Reflections by Kamal Haz on OMR Pedal Messengers

Brain: Fuck you. You are not going to complete this, just get down and start walking instead of cycling.

Consciousness: Just few kilometeres. You can do this. This is just the beginning. If you give up on this, then how can you complete cycling all around Tamilnadu and India.

It was amazing, seriously, i trained to focus on the next kilometer and next kilometer and i did it. With legs burning and knees twitching, i made it.

I did it!!!.

Working on a crazy idea right now!

Long ago, before the dawn of technology people didn't need cellphones or land lines to call people every 5 minutes to say that they are 5 minutes away from their supposed destination.

Internet has opened up the world and i am lucky to be a part of this age.
I read somewhere about how people like Rockefeller, Carnegie, Bill gates, Steve jobs.
They worked at the right time at the right place.
For eg: Rockefeller found out oil wells and around the same time Ford invented cars.
For Carnegie, It was the dawn of America's infrastructure and his railroad and steel company became on of the best suppliers outrunning every competitor or acquiring them.
Bill Gates and Steve Jobs were at the dawn of the age of information  technology and they worked hard not to earn but to showcase their work.

My country, India is at the brink of such a period in history
Indian internet users are the third largest in the world and is there is still a lot of scope to reach people with the advent of ever cheaper and better smartphones.
Indian internet startups have blossomed out of the blue and more with potential ideas in the pipeline.
To have a look at Indian startups:
Indian Startups, Entrepreneurs, Founders, Stories, News, Resources, Research, Business Ideas, Product and App Reviews, Small Business

Personal will to change the world with a little determination works out every time.

Yes, I believe in my idea.
Qr codes. Quick response 2D codes. Though most of bloggers state that QR's are dead, I would not accept. Because out there is huge potential to tap via QR codes.

Working on a crazy idea with QR.
It's turns out interesting every day.

Paso 1:
Elegido dos zonas a conecte
Considerar Punto A y Punto B

Transportation through the power of gravity

A solution to all sort of transportation problems, I believe

What is it do with the government when it comes to transportation?
I am considering Chennai city in Tamil Nadu for demonstration purpose.

Chennai city covers an area 462 sq.kms from 2011.

The solution:

How many of us have blamed the government, people and ourselves when we are stuck in traffic. Anyone gets easily irritated when it comes to being struck in traffic. Here is a solution:

First:
The  idea is to lay pillars(made of hard plastic or similar weightless material) connecting important points across the city
i.e To connect two points say Point A and Point B

Either of the pillars placed at point A or B in the city should be built lower than the other.
To make it more clear,
If Point A is 100 Metres, Point B must be only  60 metres high

The next step is to connect the two points using a cloth like material from point A to B.

To ensure that the cloth does not tear out at any point, material made of plastic can be used. Important thing to consider here is the friction between the surfaces should be minimal

So things are set and safety is ensured, We can go for the test run

The thing is simple:

No cars, Buses, Trains or the enormous amount of gasoline or diesel

Plainly,

People, who are likely to travel from Point A to Point B can either use an elevator to reach the top of point A or stairs and

Simply lie down in sleeping position in a vehicle especially designed for them and let the gravity play its part.

People will reach the spot B in no time without any traffic jams, pollution, honking sounds or anything
Similarly low costly bridges can be built across the city's important points to avoid traffic and usage of oil.

Efforts must be made to ensure the safety of people during their commute from one point to another and the type of vehicle.

The Game Changer:

This idea is surely to change the complexities involved
1. Building roads
2. Huge amount of public transportation and the consumption of diesel and petrol
3. Reduces pollution to almost zero as once people start using this mode of transportation, the number of cars and bikes are likely to go down.
4. Maintenance cost is less.
5. Quicker commute ensures that people can spend more time with their work and family.
6. Energy usage turns out to be negligible as energy will be only used to lift people to the commuting point.
As developments arrive, It would be possible to move heavy goods from villages into cities using the same simple technology.

The cons:
1. It is doubtful that every one can sustain the speed of the moving vehicle.
2. Kids and Old people need to be monitored
3. In case, a vehicle breaks down, additional measures must be taken to ensure that the human inside the vehicle must reach the spot safely.
4. Construction of bridges at important centers takes a lot of bureaucratic red tape and legal terms.

5. Mindset of the people to enable such a transition to new mode of transportation.

Revenge is not that simple! A story by Kamalakkannan Durairaju

The following story is fictitious and it does not resemble anyone dead or alive and the usual

Kaena point satellite tracking station, Hawaii, United States
11 pm, 3rd February Hast*

Michael, communication technician notices an anomaly as large number of ships dot the Indian ocean. Keen to learn what's the matter, Michael uses the satellite tracker to zoom in to the surface and finds that the ships are large cargo ships.
Michael immediately calls his superior but he pushes it aside as ships waiting to unload the cargo.

But Michael failed to notice the swarm of red dots crossing into the ocean.

Somewhere in the Indian ocean,
10.40 pm, IST

The soldier protecting the camp no.9 receives a call from his superior to relocate the people to the next camp near the sea.
As he ordered the people to vacate their camps, people thought it as another ploy to kill the rest of them in the name of relocation to a safe camp

The soldier thought that he was the only one to receive a call from his superior but as the truck drove past the artificial barricades, he was amazed to see people from all the camps tucked into trucks being taken to the desired spot.

Little did he know that the call came to him from a remote location in Ireland.

Kuh-i-Taftan, Pakistan-Iran Border
January 23, 2014

The oil tanker crossed the Pakistan territory into Iranian territory and the driver was supposedly tired after an arduous task of driving through the entire Balochistan.

As he drove along the highway, the Taftan volcano came into his view and every moment it seemed bigger . The driver realized that he did not see a single vehicle since he crossed into Iran. Fumes of smoke were belched out from the belly of volcano and the radio announced in Persian, "Taftan volcano is about to burst any moment, avoid travelling through the highway".

The soldier stationed atop the peak used his sniper with a ready shot on the driver.Hell broke loose, the volcano went insane spewing sky high flames into the sky.  Other soldiers spotting their target started running towards the truck and driver searched for his gun but in vain. He saw the flames from the volcano accompanied by the fierce soldiers and he decided that the best for him was to run far.

The soldiers reached the truck at a swift pace but the volcano was far swift.
One of the soldiers boarded the truck and opened the sealed container, while the others were running for their life. The soldier got and talked into his mike, " Recovery mission failed, Abort mission, Our Buddha is missing" , 'i'm out".

This single news creates an alert across the intelligence agencies of Middle east and entire Asian continent

Anai Malai estate, Madurai, Tamil Nadu

Ramalingam is excited and his joy is soaring over the sky as he is actually going to fly into the sky with his own bi-plane. Ramalingam has spent  fortune to change the bi plane into a heavy duty plane with a boeing 777's engine.

As he rushes to his plane's hangar, accompanied by the farm house workers, he stands shocked. His plane is gone, he cannot even see a part of it.
Ramalingam calls the police and informs them, " My plane is flying with me, Find it". Anxious to help him, the inspector informs that he will find it.

As the day comes to a close, Vridhayumna reports to his boss that he needs one more day to finish the work and leaves the spot. Bewildered, his boss informs the security to allow him the next day so that nothing turns out to be wrong and tucks few hundred Sri Lankan rupees into the man's pocket.

St George Fort, Chennai, Tamilnadu
Early morning, 7.50 am

Chief Minister has called a few selective higher officials to the meeting hall.
The Inspector, " Our tech team has found that a plane is carrying a nuclear weapon right over Tamil Nadu, Madam"

"What's the worst case scenario? Can we stop it",  asks the CM

"Even if the army comes, the bomb is likely to detonate and cause complete death, This bomb's capacity is hundred times that of capacity of bomb that was used at Hiroshima and Nagasaki".

"Did you inform the centre? How did you find the bomb", CM questions him

The inspector interrupts and says, " The radiation was detected first at Anaimalai estate, where Ramalingam's plane went missing. Following the navigation charts and people's citing at various location, We have a built a map of its course and where's it headed to"

"Where is it headed to?" CM asks the Inspector.
"Colombo, Sri Lanka"

Madam,We could not get to them. Something is blocking our signals"

International convention center,Colombo, Sri Lanka
8.10 am,

The dignitaries have started arriving at the convention center.
First one was the French President followed by British Prime Minister.
Then came the Indian PM followed by American President.
The security seemed to be sky high and only selective people were allowed inside the hall.

The function began and the Sri Lankan Prime Minister held the stage and four eyes were watching him from every corner of the hall.

The eyes not only met Sri Lankan PM but also they seemed to be connected to a grid to each other.
Feeling disturbed, he tried to avoid their eyes but he could not. His PA came near him and exclaimed something into his ears. Sri Lankan PM could not believe it and his eyes showed his fear.
Realizing that something is wrong, the other heads of state too feel disturbed.

8.20 am
Sri Lankan PM was stopped in the middle of speech by some noise, As everyone was searching for the source, the four pair of eyes saw the ceiling. A hole blew through the ceiling and through it came a guy dressed in full combat gear sporting an orangish overdress.
Meanwhile, the securities, who tried to raise their gun were neutralized by the four guy, who stood at every  corner of the hall.Commotion fell through the hall and
The guy was none other than Vridhayumna(He had spent a day and half in the ceiling) and before he landed on his heels all other guys with guns were neutralized.
He looked at his watch and went near the diaz to meet Sri Lankan PM.

Please come with me and pay for your sin.
Sri Lankan PM raised his voice and said, " You are not going to survive, you will never get past the security"
Vridhayumna, points at his guys and they nod as they rush to the diaz and grab other three heads of the state with their guns.
Vridhayumna, " The usual, I'm not going to ask for a ransom, The point is guys we are all going to die, Now, What Mr.PM? Don't you get it, The news you just received about the plane over Colombo is carrying a hydrogen bomb and it will be dropped right on your head, right here, right now.
Wearing a nano carbon strutted helmet the five of the stepped out of the hall and crossed the entrance into the streets.
Sri Lankan PM, " If you do this, your people in the camps will die"
Vridhayumna replies, " No problem, they have been already evacuated last night and are aboard ships."

The plane appears just over the horizon and the hostages just watch it fear.

The people awaiting in the square to meet their leader are shocked to watch them as hostages and Vridayumna shouts in air to move the crowd as far possible.
The guy holding the beacon near theBeach town of Negumbo breaks it as a sign and the blocked signals across the South Pacific.

"People are meant to die, only after a happy life, but in your case you have wiped out an entire race out of existence. You and your soldiers will pay for that now" says Vridhayumna

The plane decorated with a Sri Lankan flag is right over the Convention centre drops flowers followed by a mammoth metal.
Vridayumna drops to the ground as a flash of blinding white light appears over the sky and the dignitaries all fell to the ground.

St. George Fort, Chennai
Ten minutes after the blast

Madam, " The device has detonated right over Sri Lanka, Signals are working now, This is one of the worst disasters of human history"

CM pinpoints to the location onscreen, " See, Something is standing up"

Colombo, fifteen minutes after the blast

Everyone opened their eyes to look at the world as it was.
The dignitaries pinched their skin and saw the world as it was.
The people could not believe as they had survived a nuclear blast.

Vridhayumna was nowhere to be seen. His associates too!.
Sri Lankan Prime Minister and his security, soldiers were all gone.
None could believe it.

An American ship stationed off the coast spots a rather different looking bi-plane.

Vridhayumna informs his team that the bomb actually blasted but it killed only a selective few who were accused if killing our clan. The device reads their minds and innocent people were spared. Sri Lankan PM and his associates who conspired the war and murdered millions of our clan has been blasted to pieces.

The disaster management team at Colombo recovers a hard drive from the ceiling which explains the bombs working.
The bomb has killed those responsible for a clan's destruction.

Vridhayumna knows that he will he hunted for his lifetime both for the technology and the crime he orchestrated in front of the world.
